Grigoreas: Aegean Sketches (video & sheet music)

Composed for the Arion Guitar Festival, summer 2013, at Molyvos, Lesbos. Meant to be performed by the festival seminar student ensemble, taught and conducted by Eleni Skarkou.

The first part attempts to sketch the magical picture of Molyvos castle bathed in moonlight.

The second part attempts to sketch the narrow alleys of the island of Syros, In the Footsteps of Markos (Vamvakaris).

In the videos that follow, the music is performed by the Hesperia youth guitar orchestra, taught and conducted by Frangoulis Karayannopoulos.

Alfonsina and the Sea (song-video)

One of the most beautiful songs of the 20th c., inspired by the tragic death of the Argentine poet Alfonsina Storni, who threw herself into the sea at Mar de Plata.
